Tuesday, February 4, 2014

Some 300 business in Copán, Honduras, have had to close their operations due to a drop in coffee sales.

Sales of the grain have dropped between 20 and 50 percent due to a coffee rust plague, according to producers and businesspeople.

"We depend on coffee, so if producers are affected, so are we," said Eudocio Leiva, president of the Copán industry and commerce chamber.
