Colombia adds more power from small hydro plants

Four small hydro plants began operating in Colombia in the first four months of 2017, adding more than 60 MW of capacity.

According to BNamericas, the plants that began operating are 15-MW Alejandria, 19.9-MW Eden, 19.9-MW El Molino and 10-MW San Matias.

The Alejandria project on the Nare River was developed by Generadora Alejandria. The powerhouse contains two 7.7-MW Francis turbine-generator units.
