Colombia and Costa Rica aim to reach trade accord

Colombia's interest in Costa Rica's economy continues to grow with the announcement of talks towards a free trade agreement between the two countries.

The Costa Rican president, Laura Chinchilla, will welcome her Colombian counterpart, Juan Manuel Santos, during his state visit on June 15.

One of the important aspects for Chinchilla is that the agreement would put Costa Rica one step closer to becoming a member of Latin America's Pacific Alliance.
