Colombia and Nicaragua aim to resolve dispute

The president of Colombia, Juan Manuel Santos, agreed to hold talks with his Nicaraguan counterpart, Daniel Ortega, in order to solve their maritime territorial dispute.

Ortega said he was willing to work closely with Santos in order to overcome any possible obstacles.

Santos added that Colombia will pull out of a pact which recognizes the International Court of Justice's jurisdiction over territorial disputes.
