Colombia and Panama near duty agreement

Wednesday, February 19, 2014

Colombia is willing to lower duties on reexported garments and shoes from Panama's Colón free trade zone, Panamanian Trade Minister Ricardo Quijano said.

"Panama has tried through different approaches to get Colombia to be more flexible, and I think we're achieving it," Quijano said.

The new plan is to charge a 10 percent duty plus $5 for each pair of shoes which costs $7 or less.
