Colombia-Europe trade accord is ready to go

Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos announced that the free trade agreement between his country and the European Union will come into effect on August 1.

The leader confirmed the information in the city of Medellín during the inauguration of Colombiamoda fashion week, and added the accord will specially benefit the country's garment sector.

Colombia's garment sector accounts for 12 percent of the gross domestic product.
