Colombia extends tariff on Colón trade zone

Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos extended a tariff aimed at protecting the country's shoes and garments sectors for a further two years.

The measure caused Panama's Colón Free Trade Zone's exports to drop by up to 10 percent last year.

Panama's deputy trade negotiator Diana Salazar said her country's government will reiterate a lawsuit against the measure at the World Trade Organization it had filed in June last year.
