Colombia keeps policy rate at 4.5 percent

Colombia’s central bank kept its benchmark interest rate unchanged for the second straight month as policy makers weigh the effect of plunging crude prices on growth.

The seven-member board held the overnight rate at 4.5 percent, bank Governor Jose Dario Uribe said.

“The international oil price has fallen, and is now below the level predicted by the central bank,” Uribe said.
