Colombia rebels to release general this week

Colombia's Farc rebels will release five captives, including General Ruben Dario Alzate, this week, President Juan Manuel announced.

He said information about their release had been received, but he did not specify when it would happen.

Peace talks between the two sides were suspended after the men were captured by the left-wing rebels a week ago.
