Colombia's economy grows 5.4 percent

Colombia's gross domestic product grew 5.4 percent between January and June, compared with an increase of 3.7 percent during the same period of 2013, the National Statistics Department said.

The country's economy was boosted by a 14.2 percent growth in construction and a 6.1 percent growth in the services sector.

The Colombian government has projected a 5 percent gross domestic product increase for this year.
