Colombia's Emtelco eyes Central America

Call center firm Emtelco, a subsidiary of Colombia's Grupo de Empresas Públicas de Medellín, EPM, is planning to enter the Central American market.

A merger planned for early next year between EPM's telecoms firm UNE and Luxembourg-based Millicom, will open Central America to Emtelco.

"Central America has lots of potential for us because Millicom has a strong presence in Central America, and as we are part of UNE, we see good expansion opportunities in the region," Emtelco general manager Rodrigo Ferreira said.
