Colombia's mining sector grows 9 percent

Colombia's mining sector has grown 9 percent so far this year, compared with 2013, the country's mining association said.

But gold production has been below expectations due to an excess of formalities, the association added.

For this year, the association's goal is for mining to grow at a rate no less than the country's gross domestic product, forecast by authorities to grow 5 percent this year.
