Colombia's new finance minister Carrasquilla is famed as a hawk
The upcoming minister of Finance for Colombia, Alberto Carrasquilla, is noted as being a very outspoken "hawk" on economic issues.
Carrasquilla has been named to the post by the president-elect, Iván Duque. He already held the finance portfolio in the former government off Álvaro Uribe. Duque is considered to be a protege of Uribe.
Carrasquilla is famed as a proponent of radical tax cuts and a fierce critic of some elements of social spending.
