Colombia’s new planning chief faces tough workload

Luis Fernando Mejía became the head of Colombia’s National Planning Department, which is vital to government operations and intertwined in virtually every aspect of the country’s economy.

On top of the department’s role in planning infrastructure and the nation’s enormous 4G highway and road construction project — and the complications that the region-wide Odebrecht scandal present on that front — Mejía is leading DNP’s regulation overhaul, as he explains in an interview.
