Colón free trade zone faces challenges this year

Panama's Colón free trade zone could have a slow performance this year, analysts say.

Venezuela has a debt with the zone worth $600 million, while Colombia recently introduced a new tax that would affect competitiveness.

These situations have forced traders to look for other markets, such as Chile, Uruguay, Bolivia and Ecuador.
