Wednesday, February 15, 2012

The construction industry in El Salvador is estimated to have grown 8.5 percent last year, according to preliminary data from the country's construction chamber.

Conditions in 2010 were very bad for construction, when there was a negative growth of 6.3 percent, said the chamber's director, Ismael Nolasco.

Last year, there was a lot of government investment, although full recovery will come with the reactivation of the housing sector, said Nolasco.
