Construction sheds 160,000 jobs in Honduras

The construction sector in Honduras has been declining, and has lost some 160,000 jobs over the last two years.

Roadworks and housing projects will be affected, said the country's construction authority, known as Chico.

The budget for roads in 2013 will be only $40 million, which could result in the deterioration of about 30 percent of the country's 16,000 kilometers of highways, said Alejandro Alvarez, president of Chico.
