Contrasting realities surround taxes faced by Costa Ricans

There are two realities in Costa Rica concerning the nation’s tax system.

Some 93 percent of the population say they meet all their obligations to the taxman. That is one reality. The other is that studies show that tax evasion runs at 8 percent of GDP.
