Copa Airlines plans expansion of hub in Panama City

Copa Airlines, which joined Star Alliance last week, is eyeing further expansion this year of its Panama City hub.

Panama City's airport is undergoing a $100 million terminal expansion, called Muelle Norte, to open 12 additional gates.

The airline will open five new flights this year, including Las Vegas, and Recife, Brazil, said the company's chief executive, Pedro Heilbronn.
