Copa Airlines to launch non-stop service between Panama and Chicago. Gateway to Brazil, Colombia and Venezuela

Friday, October 21, 2011

Copa Airlines this year will begin Chicago's nonstop service to Panama.

"It's hard to believe, given the size and importance of a city like Chicago and given the population of people with roots in Latin America, but it's never too late to start," said Pedro Heilbron, chief executive of Panama-based Copa.

The five-hour flight, which is nearly twice as fast as travelers can get now using connections, can be a gateway to other South American destinations, such as cities in Colombia, Brazil and Venezuela, Heilbron said.
