Thursday, October 7, 2010

Panama's largest airline, Copa Holdings, raised its projected capital expenditure in 2011 and 2012 to between $200 million and $300 million a year up from a previously announced $150 million.

The company is likely to announce new jet orders to Boeing Co. in the future, financed with loans from the US Export-Import Bank and from commercial banks as well as with its own cash.

Copa Holdings, which controls the largest carrier in Panama and the second largest in Colombia, already ordered 23 Boeing 737 jets and 11 Embraer-190 jets made by Brazil's Embraer.
