Costa Rica acquires a new look for its economy

The traditional engines of growth of Costa Rica’s economy, such as construction and tourism, have lost steam as a result of the international financial crisis.

Luckily, however, Costa Rica has found new motors of growth that have boosted the recovery this year.

The incipient market openings in telecommunications and insurance, as well as the medical industry, have provided the economy with a fresh injection of domestic and foreign capital.
