Costa Rica advances in salshing red tape

Costa Rica is taking steps in eliminating bureaucracy which is blocking development, Costa Rican daily La República reported.

Several government offices have started using a digital format for procedures such as opening new businesses and processing permits, which could save the State some $60 million a year.

The construction sector was among the best performers, after the country's College of Architects and Engineers significantly reduced the number of membership processes.
