Costa Rica: airport expansion
Spanish developer Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas (FCC) has won a $33 million contract to build a six-airplane hangar at Costa Rica's Juan Santamaría airport.
Based in Barcelona, FCC has nearly 100,000 employees worldwide.
Revenue last year was $15 billion.
The airport is operated as a 30-year concession by Aeris Holdings, a subsidiary of Houston-based aviation investor ADC & HAS, with participation from Brazil’s Andrade Gutierrez Concessoes, and OMERS, a pension fund of Canadian public-sector workers.
The project is expected to take a year and a half, starting in 2014.
