Costa Rica among most prosperous nations in Latin America: Legatum Institute

Uruguay, Chile and Costa Rica are the most prosperous countries in Latin America, according to the Prosperity Index of the United Kingdom’s Legatum Institute.

 

The institute evaluates the economic situation and the governability of 110 nations, the equivalent 90 percent of the world’s population.

 

Most of the Latin American nations showed an improvement on 2009. However, at the lower end of the scale, Honduras (85) and Nicaragua (87) have dropped in the rankings.
