Costa Rica and Canada in talks on modernization of free trade agreement

Tuesday, February 7, 2012

A second round of talks is being held this week in order to modernize the free trade agreement between Costa Rica and Canada.

Costa Rica expects to achieve an accord that will allow the suppliers of services to gain access to the Canadian market and remove tariffs from digital products.

In part, the Costa Rican demands include preferential access for exports from free zones and improved access for textiles.
