Costa Rica and Nicaragua in new dispute

Costa Rica and Nicaragua are again facing a diplomatic dispute over maritime territory.

The dispute came after Nicaragua awarded oil blocks in its own maritime territory, but which were heavily criticized by Costa Rica.

"It is clear they want to sell their country, that's fine by us, but they must respect Costa Rican territory," Chinchilla said in a statement sent to the Embassy of Nicaragua in San José.
