Costa Rica boosted by removal of tax haven status

The removal of Costa Rica from the list of the world’s tax havens will boost foreign investment and boost the nation’s image in business terms.\

Until recently, Costa Rica was considered by the Organization for €conomic Cooperation and Development as a tax haven. But it changed its status by concluding a series of agreements to exchange tax information with other countries.\
\
For foreign companies, the change is significant. They can face economic sanctions that penalize tax evasion.\
