Costa Rica boosts pineapple exports to $552 million by year through October

For the second year in a row, pineapple production in Costa Rica is becoming an important factor in the increase of exports.

The year-on-year rise was 16 percent. Pineapple production closed, in October 2010, at $552 million, compared to $478 million exported in 2009.

Costa Rican pineapples  have a growing presence in more markets, mainly in Europe.
