Costa Rica candidate wary of Pacific Alliance

Costa Rican presidential candidate Luis Guillermo Solís, of the left-leaning Partido Acción Ciudadana, said he is wary of Costa Rica becoming a member of the Pacific Alliance.

Solís called for a detailed inspection of aspects such as tax exemption and migration rules that could affect Costa Rica's economy, Costa Rican daily La República reported.

Earlier this week, members of the Costa Rican legislative assembly approved a free trade accord with Colombia in the first round of debate, taking Costa Rica a step closer in fulfilling all requirements to become a member of the Pacific Alliance.
