Costa Rica central bank snubs cash

Institutions and companies from both the private and public sectors of Costa Rica are slashing their use of cash payments under an electronic system being proposed by the central bank.

The use of cash in such payments is currently costing the central bank about $7.5 million a year, La República reports in Spanish.
