Costa Rica comes out on top for regional exports

Central America exported $15.57 billion worth of goods from January to July this year, according to data from the Secretariat for Central American Economic Integration, SIECA.

During the same period last year, the region exported $14.72 billion.

This year, the top products were coffee, tea and spices, which accounted for $2.51 billion of the total.

Costa Rica lead the region with exports worth $5.76 billion, followed by Guatemala with $3.75 billion; Honduras with $2.46 billion; El Salvador with $2.17 billion and Nicaragua with $1.40 billion.
