Costa Rica electricity tariffs to be pegged: Chinchilla

Wednesday, May 8, 2013

Laura Chinchilla, the Costa Rican president, ordered government-owned utilities to cut their costs.

The order follows increases of prices of electricity, water and fuel.

The measure follows a presidential order that obliged the electricity utility, ICE, to buy clean power at the lowest cost available.
