Costa Rica-Europe trade accord comes into effect

The free trade agreement between Costa Rica and Europe comes into effect today, Costa Rican daily La República reported.

Costa Rican fruits, particularly banana and pineapple, will be among the most benefitted with the accord, as well as sugar producers.

Other products such as frozen shrimp and cassava, not among the top Costa Rican export products, will now be able to find a broader market in the 27 countries that make up the Eurozone.
