Costa Rica expects telecoms market to develop momentum after slow start

After nearly two years and three months after the doors opened to competition in Costa Rica's telecommunications, it has yet to heat up. But next year, the third phase in the process will gain momentum with the presence of companies like Telefonica (Movistar) and America Movil (Claro) as new players.

Hannia Vega, Vice Minister of Telecommunications, says that consumers have already begun benefiting because the have more choices, but admits that the market is yet to have developed fully.
