Costa Rica faces $1.5 billion bill for high-definition TV

By the end of this year, Costa Rican consumers will be able to buy high-definition TV sets and related equipment. All this, however, will be costly to the nation. The switch to an analogical system is expected to cost $1.5 billion by 2016.
The average cost to consumers will be about $2,000 per home.
