Costa Rica fauna is a magnet for foreign tourists

Eco-tourism is a major attraction of Costa Rica for foreign tourists, especially in regions where opportunities abound for bird-watching and whale-spotting.

For example, in Osa income from tourists during the whale-watching season amounts to about 80 per cent of the region’s income.
