Costa Rica gives green light to mega port

Costa Rica's environmental authority has given green light to Dutch firm APM Terminals for the construction of a mega port in Limón, Costa Rican daily La República reported.

The project, on the country's Caribbean coast, will cost $1 billion and will allow the terminal to handle new Panamax ships, which can handle 13,000 containers.

The project also opens up opportunities for investment on Costa Rica's Caribbean region.
