Costa Rica hosts world medical tourism summit

Costa Rica will this year host the fourth Medical Travel International Business Summit 2013, from the 24 to the 26 of April in Puntarenas.

The summit will be attended by some 250 medical tourism companies from 15 countries.

Costa Rica received 48,000 medical tourists during 2011 who spent $388 million. The main services tourists seek are dental, orthopedic, plastic surgery and preventive medicine, according to the Council for the International Promotion of Costa Rica Medicine, Promed.
