Costa Rica investment to be boosted by removal from the French list of tax havens
Wednesday, February 29, 2012
Costa Rica was removed this week from a list of tax havens drawn up by France in early 2010, announced Costa Rica's finance minister, Fernando Herrero.
The exclusion is a big step for the Costa Rican government's efforts to achieve international standards in tax transparency.
According to Herrero, the removal will attract French investors and increase investment security. Costa Rica has signed 12 agreements to exchange tax information.
