Costa Rica is closer to entering Pacific Alliance

Costa Rica seeks to ease the exchange of trade, finance and human resources as part of its plan to become a member of the Pacific Alliance.

President Laura Chinchilla signed an adhesion act last weekend, one of the requirements to speed up Costa Rica's integration, and which would make it the first country to become a member after its creation by Mexico, Chile, Colombia and Peru.

The next step is to sign a free trade accord with Colombia, which is already in process.
