Costa Rica is scaring away potential investors

High production costs are driving investors out of Costa Rica to other countries such as Nicaragua and Panama, Costa Rican daily La República reported.

Companies in the garment and flower industries have also chosen to leave the country as it is no longer competitive in those sectors, said Mónica Segnini, president of of the Costa Rican chamber of exporters.

Infrastructure issues have also led to companies choosing other Central American and even African countries, said Segnini.
