Costa Rica leads Central America in Google tourism searches

Among countries searched in 2017 as a tourism destination, and among those most visited, Costa Rica is first in Central America, and fourth in the region comprising Central America and the Caribbean, according to Google.

Panama was eighth in searches and sixth in visits, while Dominican Republic was first in both categories.

There is a high correlation between tourism searches and visits, according to Google (ranking refers to countries most searched in Central America and the Caribbean).
