Costa Rica looks to Asia to fill the void in Europe

While in Japan presidenta Laura Chinchilla and her entourage are getting a first hand look at the potential future of Costa Rica's trade sector and tourism industry.

The strong economies of Japan, China and South Korea could very well fill the void being left by the economic crisis in the U.S. and Europe that is affecting Latin America.

The presidenta's visit to Japan this past week is to raise Costa Rica's awareness to this important market, with the objective of negotiation a free trade agreement and increased cooperation.
