Costa Rica mayors earn more than president

Whether or not Costa Rican mayors get good marks in their annual evaluation, or lack the knowledge they need for their job, plenty of them earn more than the nation's leader, President Carlos Alvarado.

This is because that a mayor can earn 10 percent more that the council's top official, according to the Municipal Code, reports La República.
