Costa Rica poised to be 5G regional champ
Costa Rica seems sure to become the Central American leader in the development of 5G thanks to high demand in the country and the penetration of usage of mobile internet.
Claro, of Mexico's América Móvil, and state-owned kölbi announced the first 5G technical tests for this year. No other country has made a similar advance.
Some 4.8 million users of mobile internet services consumed 135,003 terabytes of information in 2017, according to the most recent figures from Sutel, the regulator.
