Costa Rica´s Chinchilla heads for Japan in drive to promote investment, particularly in electronics

Laura Chinchilla, the Costa Rican president, is to visit Japan in a bid for more investment, particularly in electronics and telecommunications.

Chinchilla will host breakfast with some 50 of the largest corporations in Japan to promote Costa Rica's democratic traditions, political stability and skilled labour.

One of Chinchilla’s stops on the tour will be the Toyota auto plant and a meeting with Shoichiro Toyoda who served as chairman of Toyota Motor Corporation between 1992–1999 and is now Costa Rica's consul in Japan.
