Costa Rica's energy future smells of natural gas
Monday, September 17, 2012
Natural gas is being proposed in Costa Rica as a means of fighting pollution and lowering bills for electricity.
The proposal is based on a report drawn up by two Canadian companies, SNC Lavalin and EnerChemTek. Costa Rican analysts back the report.
The state-owned power company, the ICE, and the Recope refinery have a plan to build a port to receive natural gas in liquid form.
