Costa Rica’s exports bounce back to $13.5 billion in 2010
Friday, January 21, 2011

Costa Rica’s exports grew by 7.5 percent last year, recovering the level they reached in 2008.
The country exported $13.5 billion in goods. Stock-rearing and fishery exports led the way with a 35 percent increase, followed by other farm products with 14.5 percent.
Though industry amounts to the lion’s share of exports, its sales rose by only 4.8 percent. The sluggish performance reflected a 12 percent fall in exports by Intel, the electronic chip manufacturer.
