Costa Rica’s green image hides big import bills for gasoline and diesel

The good news is that Costa Rica is famous as a “green” nation, with almost all of its power generated by renewable resources.

The bad news is that consumption of gasoline and diesel is rising because the number of trucks, buses and private cars has surged, prompting concerns over the health of the nation’s inhabitants.
